
Rajhenburg Castle stands on a rocky prominence overlooking the confluence of the restanica stream and river Sava. It is one of Slovenia’s most important medieval builtmonuments. It was built between 1131 and 1147, by Konrad I Archbishop of Salzburg. For centuries, the building and its estate were managed by ministerial knights whotook castle Rajhenburg’s name – Rajhenburški (knights of Rajhenburg).
